Espresso Martini recipe
Ingredients for espresso Martini cocktail (1 drink):
- 3 cl or 1 oz. of vodka
- 3 cl or 1 oz. of coffee liqueur, usually Kahlua
- 3 cl or 1 oz. of espresso (1 shot)
- sugar or even better simple syrup (optional)
Make a nice strong espresso with your favorite coffee. If you don’t have an espresso machine, make an Italian or filter coffee, but strong enough to get that coffee taste. Let the coffee cool down, just pour it into a bowl to cool faster.
To make espresso Martini, place all the ingredients in the cocktail shaker (add ice cubes to taste) and shake hard to get a nice foam, sweeten if necessary.
Pour the mixture into a chilled martini glass and garnish with coffee beans or a cherry on a stick.
You can frost your glass with sugar, chocolate, coconut, cinnamon, etc., let your imagination run wild. Simply moisten the rim of the glass with either lemon juice, syrup, or egg white. Turn the glass upside down in the sugar and let it dry before pouring your espresso Martini cocktail.
Espresso Martini with Baileys
The espresso Martini is revisited with a variant that will please those who like novelty or who don’t like Kahlua. To make espresso Martini with Baileys, simply replace the coffee liqueur with Baileys in the same quantity and you’re done!
